What is Internal Wall Insulation?
Internal wall insulation (IWI) involves installing insulation to the inside face of external walls to improve the thermal performance of your home.

This proect was carried out in Blackburn on a dormer with a timber frame.
We removed the existing boards and installed PIR insulation between the timber members before using XPS insulation board as part of the wall build-up. The wall was then skimmed to provide a smooth finished surface.
The correct insulation system depends on the property and existing construction. Different materials including PIR, XPS and cork insulation, can be suitable for different situations. So the system should be selected based on the individual building.
